News-Antique.com - Sep 30,2010 - Garden City, New York - TIAS.com the Web's largest online antiques & collectibles mall asked 15,000+ subscribers to their "Collectors Newsletter",
"If you had over 100 small antique / vintage items to sell, which of the following would be your #1 choice to sell these items."
The replies were:
a) Sell on ebay or other online shop 32.3%
b) Sell them in a booth at an antique mall 17.2%
c) Put them in a consignment shop 10.1%
d) Have an estate sale 9.1%
e) Sell them through an auction company 9.1%
f) Sell them at a yard sale 9.1%
g) Sell them one at a time from home 8.1%

The #1 choice of "eBay or other online shop" far surpassed any of the conventional venues selected by sellers. Coming in at a distant second was "Sell them in a booth at an antique mall". So for many people interested in selling antiques & collectibles, Selling them online is the only way to do it.
