News-Antique.com - Aug 31,2010 - European Antique Market in Louisville Kentucky is featured in the Sept / Oct 2010 issue of Victoria magazine.
Shawn Stucker, owner, journeys through the French countryside in search of antiques and brocante for her store, located in the Highlands. Ten years of traveling and learning French culture has left her with a lot of stories.
Stucker says she not only loves to share her antique finds, but her clients want to hear the stories behind the beautiful workmanship of her French furniture
pieces and accessories.
“There is a greater appreciation, splashed with a bit of romance when a proud new owner of a silver fork knows the monogram is always on the back due
to the French placing the fork, tines down, as not to damage the intricate sleeves of the ladies fashion du jour”, Stucker says.
Stucker began blogging several years ago in an effort to share her stories with a wider audience. Her blog, “Country French Antiques” now has over
40,000 unique visitors monthly. She is hopeful that with the national exposure in Victoria magazine, that number will increase.
“It is a global market” says Stucker, “and being the niche business that I am, I need more than the local economy to sustain me.” Stucker has even received some unexpected advertising revenue from her blog.
“When you consider the cost of advertising, even to reach the local market, any small business owner who is not blogging to promote their business, is missing the boat,” says Stucker.
“You never know, your blog may also catch the editor’s eye of a national publication too.” She adds.
