Kate @ Decotique Lecture Series The first of this season's Decotique Lecture Series, Ladies and Gentlemen's Accessories of Days Gone By, presented at St. Thomas More Parish, Cherry Hill, NJ, was a great success!
News-Antique.com - Jun 03,2010 - May 22, 2010 - The day began with an inspirational Mass followed by a day of events geared to Awaken the Spirit Within. Talented student and actor, Christin Jezak, performed a fascinating one woman show portraying a variety of characters from Mother Theresa of Calcutta to a homeless man down on his luck in the streets. Christin’s performance was creative, insightful and enormously entertaining!
Next Kate @ Decotique presented an entertaining and informative presentation on antique purses, vintage vanity items, flapper clothing and accessories. There were over 75 ladies in attendance, some of whom brought show and tell items for Kate to share and evaluate. Many of the items dated from the late 19th century through the Depression, Flapper era. On display was a complete bathing costume from 1900, as well as several other examples of swim suits worn in the early part of the century.
Decotique offers all items displayed at talks for purchase on its website. Antiques and collectibles include the Art Deco, Art Moderne, Art Nouveau Eras.
