News-Antique.com - May 06,2010 - The company StampNews.com has prepared the first-time research dealing with the activity of the post offices from 140 countries and their contributions in the development of international philately.
As its aim the research had to rank the countries according to the quantity of new stamps issued (not the overall quantity of copies, but the number of new releases) in the year 2009 as well as to estimate the user-friendliness of the post offices’ websites. Also we took into account the availability of each site’s English version, the presence and ease of use of an e-shop.
New Issues
First of all we would like to make special mention of two countries – Japan and France – which issued in the year 2009 more than 300 and 210 stamps respectively.
They are followed by those countries which issued from 100 to 150 stamps in 2009. In decreasing order these are: Cuba, New Zealand, India, the Philippines, Russia and Portugal. The third group of countries – United Kingdom, Australia, China, Spain, Venezuela, Malaysia, USA, Thailand, Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, Isle of Man, Hungary, Mexico – issued from 70 to 100 stamps.
