The March issue of the monthly newsletter includes Easter bunnies, Chinese export porcelain, flamboyant furniture from an overlooked American designer, mesh handbags and baseball memorabilia. You'll also find a marks section and a price guide.
The newsletter includes a report of a recent auction of Easter bunny figurines. The rabbits, made from a variety of materials including papier-mâché and felt, served as candy containers, toys and doorstops when they were originally sold. Most were made in Germany before the second World War, some of these bunnies fetched thousands of dollars.
The newsletter includes photos, descriptions and prices of a recent auction of works by James Mont. A flamboyant New York designer whose work was popular among mafia bosses and movie stars, James Mont was largely forgotten until recently. The newsletter includes a brief history of his fascinating life and descriptions and prices of his Asian-inspire designs.
Just in time for the start of Baseball season, the March issue of “Kovels on Antiques and Collectibles” has photos and descriptions of an assortment of baseball memorabilia. Pieces include Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio merchandise.
