News-Antique.com - Mar 27,2010 - At last, a calendar of Glass & Pottery Shows that will remain accurate and that does not charge a fee for inclusion. Collectors can go to one place to obtain information regarding an upcoming show in their part of the country, or near where they plan to travel.
The National Depression Glass Association (www.NDGA.net) is an organization dedicated to preserving and providing information regarding glassware and dinnerware manufactured in America. Throughout the year, all across the country, Glass Shows (sometimes called "Depression glass shows") are held featuring American-made glass and pottery, mostly from the 19th and 20th centuries. EAPG and Carnival glass shows are included, as they also represent American made glass.
The NDGA Calendar of Glass Shows (www.ndga.net/calendar.php) is a free service, open to any promoter of a qualifying Glass Show (or Convention, Auction or Gathering). General antique shows are NOT included in the calendar, nor are bottle or insulator shows, as the calendar is limited to those shows relevant to the NDGA objectives.
Glass collectors now have one location to access when looking for a Glass Show in their area. Promoters and Clubs can post a listing without incurring a fee, and are encouraged to do so. The NDGA reserves the right to accept or reject any show entry submitted for the calendar.
