Sewing Patterns Galore! 1000's to be added Abracadabra Vintage Clothing and Sewing Patterns will be adding 1000's of vintage sewing patterns to their shop over the next several months. Some profits will go towards a non-profit effort.
News-Antique.com - Feb 17,2010 - Owner Ardyth Morehouse of Abracadabra Vintage, Vancouver, WA. loves estates sales and saw a super opportunity over Valentine's weekend of 1000's of vintage sewing patterns for sale. "It was Sunday afternoon and hardly any of the patterns had sold, they were out of view, hidden in the garage under a tarp, everything was 75% off" says Ardyth. "I bought them all up immediately to the delight of the seller and myself. Folks are starting to sew again and these older patterns are easy and so retro and incredibly popluar". Ardyth says she plans on selling the patterns as cheaply as possible with free shipping on her online website. She wants most of the profits going towards her non-profit "Compassionate Heart Community Outreach". I am a student at "City Vision College earning a degree in homeless studies. Hope to open a community center one day to help those in need. I am trying to make money any way I can and saving every cent to put a down payment a building. She and her husband Tom Morehouse hope to retire to Idaho one day and open the center. In the mean time she can be found putting patterns online in her spare time. "Folks have been very generous in donating their old patterns and getting the word out about our project". Ardyth says she has patterns of all kinds including infants, toddlers, children, teens, adults, costumes, wedding and accessories from the 1920's on to present 2010 and about 250 total. She hopes to put 5000 online before the end of 2010. "My goal is 1500 in the next 2 years". You can contact Ardyth at: abracadabravintageclothing@yahoo.com.
