Historic Mansion Setting for Central Ohio’s Foremost Antique Show
GRANVILLE, OH, February 16, 2010—In a few short months a country estate where presidents Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge once dined and Paderewski and Rachmaninoff both performed will host Central Ohio’s foremost antique and Gardening
show. Antiques & Gardening at Bryn Du will be held May 14-16, 2010 at Bryn Du Mansion in Granville.
“This is the fourth year for Antiques & Gardening at Bryn Du,” said Jay Melrose, promoter with The Antiques Show (Melrose & Duddy). “In those few years the show has become an important tradition and hundreds of residents of central Ohio and beyond are expected to attend.”
The show is an important fundraiser for the historic mansion. Some proceeds from this year’s event will help fund the continuing restoration of the Formal Gardens and other Historic preservation projects on the grounds.
“Bryn Du is the perfect setting for this type of event,” says executive director Bruce Cramer. “The mansion, plus two restored out buildings, provide unique space for antique and art settings and the outdoor areas combine to provide enchanting garden displays.”
During three days of exhibition, forty dealers will display period furniture, art, glass, porcelain, oriental carpets, garden items, period varieties of plants and other items.
The Bryn Du mansion is a short country drive, 35 miles east, from downtown Columbus. Hours for the show are May 14 Noon--6:00 p.m., May 15, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and May 16 Noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $8.00. A preview brunch will be held May 14, 10:00 a.m.-Noon. Brunch cost is $20.00, including show admission. All tickets are good for the duration of the event. For more information on the show please visit www.brynduantiques.com or www.bryndu.com.
