News-Antique.com - Jan 27,2010 - Chicago-area design bloggers Libby Alexander and Katherine Raz launch The Vintage Bazaar -- an upscale modern flea market featuring over 40 Chicagoland vintage vendors, all showcasing a diverse array of items -- from furniture, curiosities, and decor to clothing and accessories.
Alexander, who writes the blog AlexanderSalvage.com, and Raz, who writes BackGarage.com, conceived The Vintage Bazaar as an antiques and vintage showcase at flea market prices. The event is being promoted as the first in a series of pop-up vintage markets to occur in different Chicago locations over the next year.
The Feb. 27 market will take place at the DANK Haus, 4740 N. Western, in Lincoln Square, from noon to 5pm. Admission for shoppers is free and vendor space at the market is available for $75 -- all applicants are subject to prior approval by the promoters.
Alexander, 31, is the author of AlexanderSalvage.com. She managers the brick-and-mortar salvage shop Agent Gallery in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood and runs an online vintage shop, blogbloglog.etsy.com.
Raz, 29, is the author of BackGarage.com -- a blog about home decor on a garage sale budget. She runs an online boutique at backgarage.etsy.com.
Both are residents of Chicago and first-time promoters. So wish them luck.
