News-Antique.com - Dec 19,2009 - Our Two Day Sale has been extended! We had a wonderful response to our two day and many customers have thanked us for offering it so we are extending the sale. This is the first time we have offered our entire inventory at 20% off with only a twenty dollar minimum purchase. We carry variety of antiques and collectibles and have a great selection of dinnerware replacement pieces as well as Vintage Corning Ware. Corning Ware is becoming a hot collectible as it is considered a "Green" cookware, it durable and the original formulation is no longer available, the few pieces that are now made are not the same as the vintage pieces. Corning Ware has an interesting history, it is made of a special mixture of glass and ceramic called Pyroceram. This formulation was discovered in the late 1950's when the government asked Corning to formulate a material for the tips of missiles that could withstand extreme temperature changes. Corning was purchased a few years ago by a Chinese company, they are now producing some pieces in the Cornflower Blue pattern but have changed the material these pieces are made of, many of the new pieces are now made in China.
