OREM, Utah – December 8, 2009 – HammerTap, the industry leader in eBay market research, reports that HammerTap keyword search tool led eBay listing to be the 12th most watched puzzle on eBay, according to www.collectorsweekly.com.
During an interview on the radio program “The River, The Ranch, and The Bay” (www.rrbradio.com), Jen Cano, HammerTap Vice President of Education, reported eBay selling statistics for select listeners. Listener Betsie Bolger Mott (“eBetsy”), who sells puzzles, was one of the audience members chosen for the program.
During the program, Cano reported that puzzles in the “1970s to Present” category sold 38% of the time with an average selling price of $9.59. But, she pointed out, the purpose of market research is to discover how to do better than average. Cano used HammerTap’s eBay keyword search tool to tell Mott which words performed better than average. The suggestion was to use these keywords in her listing title to get more eyes on her puzzle listings.
"We listed our eBay item #390124667252 using HammerTap's keywords Springbok, Xmas, and New,” says Mott. The listing ended with 67 viewers and sold for a price well above the average.
“Many eBay sellers wonder if it’s too late, at this stage in the holiday selling season, to increase bids and sales,” says Cano. “But there are still a number of ways sellers can influence sales on the products they will list for the next few weeks. Research is one of them.”
When asked what she would say to other sellers hoping to increase last-minute sales over the next few weeks, Mott said, "You can promote them on Facebook and Twitter, once they're up, but while you're listing them, to capture the most eyeballs, check HammerTap first for the best keywords to produce the best results."
