the Monday night banquet with a sampling of New Orleans fare followed by a charity auction for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each attendee is asked to bring a “treasure” to donate to the auction. Two hour lunch breaks will give you plenty of time to explore the French Quarter, duck into a couple of antique shops, sample the crawfish etouffee or gumbo, make a quick trip to the famous French Market on Decatur or just relax along the edge of the river.
Tuesday afternoon is set aside for a shopping trip to the Magazine Street antiques district. The merchants association is excited about the trip and has promised to roll out the welcome mat and make the trip worthwhile.
With everyone complaining about the economy and its effect on the antiques industry, we all need to work at revitalizing our industry. This is a great way to make an investment in your future. You will gain knowledge, find out what is happening with other dealers and you will go away with the tools to increase your sales and profit. You will become motivated again! Don’t miss this opportunity!
