News-Antique.com - Nov 07,2009 - The Yellow Garage Antiques Marketplace of Mullica Hill, NJ will hold their annual Black Friday sale and Open House on November 27th from 11am to 7pm. “Black Friday” is the day after Thanksgiving and was named this by merchants who would look forward to this as the day they were “in the black” for the first time during the year.
Besides the extra hours for this year’s event, many of the 35 dealers in The Yellow Garage will be on hand with fresh merchandise and special price considerations.
Quimper expert and author Joan Datesman of Annapolis, MD will be signing copies of her book “Collecting Quimper” and will be answering questions on the subject. Joan has recently joined the group shop and keeps a showcase stocked with many fine examples of the colorful French ceramics.
Live music by Sam Priem and refreshments will be served to round out the event.
Now completing its thirteenth year in operation, The Yellow Garage has become a popular antiques shopping destination for collectors and dealers alike. Since many of the dealers set-up at regional and national antiques shows, there is always “show quality” merchandise within the shop’s 6500 square feet and a good weekly turnover of high quality goods. Some of the categories of merchandise include an extensive selection of fine quality 18th and 19th C. country and formal furniture, blue decorated stoneware, redware, quilts, baskets, fine art, early glass, antique images, indian artifacts, dolls and accessories, Halloween and Christmas collectibles, Americana, folkart, Wallace Nutting Prints, samplers, ceramics, toys, advertising, early trade signs, hooked rugs and just in- a fine collection of Civil War artifacts.
