TRADEWINDS CONDUCTS ITS AUTUMN ALL-CANE AUCTION On October 3, 2009, Tradewinds held its semi-annual all-cane live auction at the Peabody Marriott Hotel, in Peabody, Massachusetts. It was the 35th such event for America’s Premier Cane Auction House
News-Antique.com - Oct 27,2009 - The leader of the sale was a rare California gold quartz cane that belonged to San Francisco Fire Captain R. C. Browne. It fetched $10,350. A scarce Remington small dog head gun cane curio achieved $8625, while a fine nautical with a carved fist brought $8,050. An impressive ivory cane of Mazeppa made $5175, as did aTiffany silver Nast eagle, while a 1694 ivory and silver pique brought $4025.
There were many other items in the $3,000 and $2,000 levels and examples in all price ranges were sold.
All prices quoted include a 15% buyers premium.
