News-Antique.com - Oct 19,2009 - Morristown, Tennessee (Oct 19, 2009) – Memories on Main Street Antiques and Art Show will be held on October 24, 2009 in historic downtown Morristown, Tennessee. Admission is free and the downtown sidewalks of West Main Street will be full of antiques for the show from 10 am – 4 pm. We are expecting a large turnout to this event as the dealer response has been very enthusiastic and it is the same weekend as the very popular Mountain Makins festival at the Rose Center. Spaces for dealers and individuals wanting to set up on the Main Street sidewalks are still available and cost only $10 for each space this year. We will not be closing off Main Street for the Oct 24th show but will instead display the antiques and art on the lower sidewalks. If the lower spaces fill up, vendors will have plenty of space on the famous overhead skywalks. Our local Antiques dealers will be displaying their antiques as well. Visitors can expect to see a lot of antiques, local and regional artist, and crafts.
From antique bottles, glass, vintage comics, and furniture to vintage jewelry, musical instruments, dulcimers and dolls, the Memories on Main Street Antiques and Art Show is the place to find unique collector items to decorate your home or give as gifts. Browse through antique dishes, toys, porcelain, silver, furniture, vintage clothing and much more from over 50 dealers and collectors at bargain prices. In addition to one of the largest selection of antiques ever shown in this region, the show will also feature local artist and crafts that early Christmas shoppers will surely enjoy. Due to the Downtown Morristown Association facilitating the 2009 Christmas parade on Dec 3rd, the DMA has decided not to host a Christmas on Main Street event this year but instead invite Christmas craft vendors to set up during the Oct 24th Memories on Main Street Show. A special section of the downtown sidewalks will be set aside for the holiday craft vendors.
“Memories on Main Street last year was a whole lot of fun and is one of the many activities making Downtown Morristown a fun place to shop, dine and visit. Just like in the old days, downtown is still the place to go to hang out with friends, eat great food and find special and unique gifts. We are so excited this year to be working in conjunction with the Rose Center Mountain Makins Festival in order to promote both events and offer visitors a wonderful weekend of shopping. For many years thousands of visitors from Mountain Makins would come downtown during the weekend and not see anything special going on but this year we are grateful to the Rose Center staff and board for seeing the benefit of cross promotion” says Darrell Williams, president of the Downtown Morristown Association
