Oktoberfest in Bahoukaville!
The traditional Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Germany, and observed by other many cities of the world as well. The original Oktoberfest occurred in 1810, in commemeration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausenthe. Since George's relatives are rumored to have been jesters in King Ludwigs court (true story) then elebrating
here is almost like being in Germany!
Bahoukaville is celebrating this 199th anniversary of Oktoberfest this Friday October 2! As is traditional, we will offer you the opportunity to eat huge amounts of food and wash it down with beer! Food will be offered by the American Legion, or served to you from Vancheries Restaurant right in the beer garden! Come join us in our Union Avenue parking lot. Perhaps we can get our sensational fräulein DaNica to
sing some Schlager (german popular music). It is tradition to purchase a souvenier mug- so we will help you with that by offering 20% off of all mugs and steins in the Bahoukas Beer MuZeum! Prost! Zum Wohl!

Bahoukas.com Zippitty Zippo's!!
A regular visitor to our store, Norm, caught the collecting bug quite by accident. Norm is a retired Police officer who spent his last 5 years of his career on horseback in the Mounted Unit. When it was too hot for the horse, the mounted policemen were put on Harley's. During that time, the State of NJ was bringing the Battleship NJ to Camden, and Norm was assigned to the task of getting a milage count for a commerative 62 mile Run (to represent the hull number of the ship). Zippo made 150 lighters to honor the participants in the Run and Norm was given two of them. Next, his brother-in-law sent him a Camel 1932-82 Commemorative. Then he was hooked! His oldest and favorite Zippo's are a 1934 and 1935. They would both "fire-up" if flint and fluid were put back into them, as would all of the lighters in his extensive
collection. The 1935 with a "Walking Liberty" half dollar on it was his best bargain, as it only cost him $5! Zippo's are made today as they have been since 1933, in Bradford Pennsylvania. Today's Zippo has changed a little: it is a 1/4 inch shorter, the striking wheel is a bit
different, as is the wind screen. And just as it was in 1933 when the first Zippo was made, "They work, or we fix it free". Check out a snapshot of Norm's collection below!! Thanks for sharing your story
