Peter Max defined an art style in the 1960s creating psychedelic artworks distributed to poster stores and newly opened Head Shops frequented by hippies and wanna-be hippies. The Oct. 4 auction will include a dozen of the most desirable Peter Max head shop posters including iconic images and titles. The posters are in mint condition and come from a collector who has had these since they were initially released. Included in this sale are “Buddha Prana,” “W.C. Fields Cameo,” “Kaleidoscope Lips,” “Donovan,,” “Midget’s Dream,” “Outer Space,” “Michael J. Pollard,” “Top Cat,” “Captain Midnight,” “Audio DNA,” “Different Drummer,” and “Dove.”
