News-Antique.com - Sep 08,2009 - Cleveland, Ohio – September 7, 2009 – Kovels on Antiques and Collectibles September 2009 issue is now available in print and online. In this issue Terry Kovel writes about Cowboy Collectibles that sold at a recent Denver auction. A Main & Winchester saddle with matching pommel bags and excellent provenance sold for $161,000. The ownership history of an antique can have a big impact on price, but the quality and condition of the item is still significant. See it pictured and read about some of the other "cowboy collectibles" that sold, in the September Issue.
Other picture-price reports featured in the September Kovels' newsletter are Rookwood Novelties, French Cameo Glass, Modern Upholstered Chairs, Musician Clockwork Toys, and Children's Books. Also included are maker's marks on European Clockwork Toys, Terry's comments on collecting fads and more about her visit to the Paperweight Collectors Association Convention, as well as hotlines, collectors' questions, and the popular list of up-to-the-minute prices.
With many collectors tightening their belts, knowing what something is worth or how much to pay for an antique or collectible is more important than ever. The 12-page, color-illustrated newsletter is packed with information that will help collectors learn the value and history of their treasures.
