News-Antique.com - Sep 02,2009 - "Live Art! The "Murals of Grace" group will be painting a new mural at our First Friday Celebration in Bahoukaville. They are a group of volunteers led by Genevieve Britton that are devoted to the beautification of Havre de Grace through the painting of murals throughout our town. The "Murals of Grace" are responsible for the recent update of the underwater scene on the brick wall on the north end of St John Street. They also recently painted a depiction of the Iwo Jima statue on the American Legion building which depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II. The mural they will be painting in Bahoukaville on First Friday will be a view of the fireworks over the water as seen from Havre de Grace's own Tidings Park. It will be very exciting to see the mural as it progresses so we hope you will join us on First Friday to watch! The
mural, when completed, will be installed on the side of Steve Sheppard's "Office Center" at the corner of Union Avenue and Green Street. Genevieve also leads the "Painted Ladies" that I talked about in the last newsletter. The "Painted Ladies" will be occupying half of the Collectables store starting October 1st- so come meet them to find out what they are all about! You will love them! A great addition to Bahoukaville!.
"Live Music" Once again, on First Friday September 4th we will have DaNica performing live in Bahoukaville! If you have celebrated with us before, you know how fabulous she is! If you haven't heard her sing, now is your chance! Emma Kleinberg will have her First Friday debut and will be singing between DaNica's sets. Emma is another one to watch! She is only 12 years old but you would never guess it when you hear her sing. She studies voice and piano at the Maryland Conservatory of Music in Bel Air. She has performed at various community events including a "Tsunami Relief Concert" and the opening of the Abingdon Public Library, is currently part of the Conservatory's Show choir, and has performed in musical theater at Harford Community College and John Carroll High School. Come see this local talent star!!
