SEAT WEAVING AT MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL, SPARTA,NC Anderson's Restoration to do Seat Weaving and Wicker Weaving at the Mountain Heritage Festival, in Spara,NC on Saturday, Sept 19.
News-Antique.com - Aug 27,2009 - Anderson's Restorations located in Yadkinville, NC has been asked to demonstrate the old craft of chair seating, caning, rush splint, shaker tape along with wicker weaving at the Mountain Heritage Festival in Sparta, NC Sat Sept 19. This celebration will also mark the 150th anniversary of Alleghany County.
We will be setting up our display boards with samples of many of the materials used in both chair seating and wicker furniture making. We will also be weaving several items while at the festival. We will be available to answer questions about all areas of weaving and caring for your items. We would like to take this time to thank the Chamber for inviting us and to encourage people to bring photos of items they have question about having restored or even bring the whole chair!
Anderson's Restorations has been restoring antiques for over 35 years and specializes in the restoration of wicker items and all types of chair seating. We are located in Yadkinville,NC just a short drive from Winston-Salem, right off hwy 421. We have wrtiiten several articles over the years and recently did a similar demonstration at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh over a 3 day period.
