About the TCCA
The TCCA is an international association devoted to the collection, preservation and enjoyment of diecast, white metal, pressed steel, tinplate, cast iron and other transportation toys and models. It began in May 1993 as the Majorette Diecast Toy Collectors Association, and was swiftly renamed as the North American Diecast Toy Collectors Association. This was then shortened to just the Diecast Toy Collectors Association to reflect the growing international interest in the club, before a final name change to the Toy Car Collectors Association, in recognition of its interest in model vehicles made of materials other than diecast metal. It launched its magazine, Toy Car Collector in 2001.
The TCCA and its predecessors were founded by Dana Johnson of Dana Johnson Enterprises (DJE) which has operated since 1992 from Bend, Oregon, offering toy car collector's guides and serving as a worldwide resource centre for toy car collectors at Toynutz.com, a valuable resource for collectors of die-cast, white metal, tinplate, pressed steel and other types of transportation toys. Toynutz.com provides contact details on toy car manufacturers, retail sources, publications, clubs, toy shows and lots more. Mr. Dana Johnson is the site's creator, owner and webmaster. He is also the author of numerous books on toy cars. Titles published by Collector Books of Paducah, Kentucky, include "Toy Car Collector's Guide", "Collector's Guide to Diecast Toys" and "Matchbox Toys 1947 to 2003" and "The Other Matchbox Toys 1947 to 2004". He also has produced several self-published collector's guides, including books on Siku, Tomica, Road Champs, Micro Models and others.
