Toy Collector Teams with Lamborghini and Egidio Reali for Retrospective Toy Collector is joining up with Lamborghini and modelmaker extraordinaire Egidio Reali for a trip through the brand’s history in small-scale, featuring Reali’s models for Looksmart and The MR Collect
News-Antique.com - Aug 17,2009 - The retrospective will follow the same format as the site’s recent successful joint promotion with Audi UK for the marque’s centenary. Audi’s history was traced in a blog featuring models supplied by Audi’s Accessories division, and this new initiative will look at all the major Lamborghini vehicles created since the brand’s inception - and the 1/43 and 1/18 scale versions created by Reali for the brands he engineers for. Looksmart produces highly-detailed 1/43-scale diecast models, with plans to venture into 1/18 scale, while MR makes highly-accurate 1/18 resin models.
Models for both ranges are designed by Reali in Italy, where the MR models are also hand-made. Looksmart’s models are produced in the Far East. In addition to these two brands, busy Reali also finds time to run the 1/18 diecast Elite and Super Elite series for US company Mattel.
Looksmart’s Lamborghini models run the gamut from the 1963 350GT through the Miura, Urraco, Espada to modern-day models like the Diablo and Gallardo. The company has produced models of almost every version of the Countach and has also modeled most of Lamborghini’s concept cars.
