The auction offers over 800 lots of Civil War & Antique firearms, including two private collections: The Eastover collection, from Lenox, Massachusetts, includes several cannons, an 1883 Gatling gun, dozen of Uniforms, firearms & related items; and the Civil War collection of Henry B. Walker, direct from his descendants.
The Eastover collection has been called one of the world’s largest privately held Civil War collections. The collection was housed in the American Heritage Room Museum at Eastover Resort, in Lenox, MA. George J. Bisacca, who opened the Eastover resort in 1947, began the collection, which includes items from the Spanish American War and World War II in addition to the Civil War items, and opened the museum in 1961.
The highlight of the Eastover collection, and of this two day auction, is Lot 406, a magnificent Colt’s Model 1883 .45 caliber Gatling Gun. Bidding begins at $90,000 is expected to exceed the top estimate of $250,000.
