News-Antique.com - Apr 22,2009 - Recently acquired (now sold but there are other vintage Mickey wrist watches available) is a very rare Ingersoll Mickey Mouse pocket watch from 1933. This is Disney's very first mechanical wind pocket watch made during the time that the Mickey Mouse cartoon, introduced in 1928, was becoming popular in this country. During my Internet investigation of this watch I discovered that the original wristwatch version of this 1933 watch sold recently at auction for over six thousand dollars!
This extremely rare watch measures approximately 2 by 2 1/2 inches and is marked 'Mickey Mouse Ingersoll' on the face at the 3:00 o'clock marker, 'Ingersoll Mickey Mouse' on the back of the case with an etched picture of Mickey, and 'Made in USA' and model number 86281173 on the movement. This is a beautiful extremely rare and unique treasure!
You may view this item in the pocket watch section under 'Clocks and Watches' on our web site at http://www.tias.com/stores/bothellj/ . Please check for availability as I don't anticipate this one will last very long!
