News-Antique.com - Apr 20,2009 - Imagine walking inside a giant and well-kempt home: Every hardwood floor covered with early hand woven rugs from all over the world and made moons ago. Cupboards built floor to ceiling, every inch filled with books, ceramics, collectibles and antiques from over 100 years of travel and collecting.
Imagine paintings and mirrors from European countries and even early American derivation flooding every wall and nearly every square foot of stairway. Not one damaged or broken heirloom but rather all museum quality keepsakes from three generations of family, kept forever safe in the hands of four sisters who lived together, traveled together, schooled together and cared for their family treasures together like an early American ritual.
Imagine that you too, can now meander through this historical wonder, from Lucite pillbox purses to marble statues and lamps, ornate French tables and cabinets, porcelains, Weller and other potteries, and oversized German bisque dolls. This could be your lucky day!
We are elated to be unveiling the Drost Sister’s Estate located at 34 Pinios River Court, Sacramento CA 95831 near the corner of Pocket. Until then, Mike and I will try to walk you through a room or two at a time with daily updates, and fill you in on what to expect during your own ventures in this galaxy of goodies. While the Drost heirs have chosen to keep a small amount of quality items, there is still a larger amount of merchandise available for you to choose from than in any of our past sales. There will be a list of kept family items on the front door so that you do not have wait in line to buy something the nieces and nephews opted to keep for their own families. We thank you in advance for understanding their right to do so.
Beginning Friday and Saturday the 24th and 25th of April as well as the 1st and 2nd of May from 7am-6pm. Saturdays will be our half off. This sale will have free items in the garage on Saturdays at four. If we have enough interest to do so, we will be open limited hours on Sunday as well.
We will be serving snacks and refreshments throughout the entire sale. We will also offer a port-a-potty. Prior to opening on each day, we will not be allowing numbers or a list. You must keep your own place in line.
While there will be a large amount of costume jewelry and vintage clothing, purses and accessories in the early sale, the more expensive jewelry and clothing will be sold the second week. Look for more photos, some videos, slideshows and even an interview with the family at http://estatesaleshelp.com/drostsisters - We are very excited to announce that the Drost Sisters Estate is finally here!
