News-Antique.com - Apr 10,2009 - Just For Openers was formed in 1979 by Don Bull of Wirtz, VA. JFO publishes four newsletters a year and holds an annual convention in April of each year (2009 Troy MI, 2010 San Antonio TX, 2011 Amana IA, 2012 Nashville TN, 2013 St Louis MO). Presently we have 225 members from North America. Many of our members collect mostly beer advertising openers and corkscrews but we encourage collectors of all types of openers and corkscrews to join. Dues are $20 per year.
Newsletters are published in January (new additions to the Handbook), April (membership list), July (annual convention hi-lites), and October (new discoveries to the Handbook). The main article for each issue is shown in parentheses but each issue has many articles on openers (and/or corkscrews) and each issue offers an opener auction or fixed price list of about 100 items. All members are encouraged to send in articles and members are allowed a free ad in each issue. Your membership starts with the latest JFO newsletter. Membership time periods are January to December, April to March, July to June and October to September.
