News-Antique.com - Mar 31,2009 - Following in the tradition of the popular PBS program, Antiques Roadshow, Kansas City Public Television (KCPT) is partnering with local online auction entity, Manion’s International Auction House, to host their first annual Appraisal Fair – Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the North Kansas City Community Center.
“Manion’s is delighted to be a part of this inaugural event,” said company representative John Conway. “We’re always looking for a chance to share our expertise of militaria and collectibles with the Kansas City community.”
Manion’s International Auction House, Inc. has brokered the sale of militaria since 1970. They serve a worldwide customer base from right here in the Kansas City metro area. Although the main focus of Manion’s is militaria, the company was able to recruit several local collectors to serve as appraisers for the event in other areas of interest.
“Manion’s staff possesses a very broad range of knowledge in collecting areas other than militaria,” said Conway. “But with the addition of additional very talented individuals, we’ve set the stage for a premier event.”
Categories represented are as follows: Advertising Memorabilia, Asian Art and Artifacts,
Automotive, Books and Manuscripts, Clocks and Watches, Coins and Stamps, Decorative Art, Ethnic Art and Cultural Items, Fine Art, Furniture, Jewelry, Militaria and Armor, Musical Instruments, Organizational Material, Photography, Political, Pop Culture, Sports Memorabilia, and Toys.
“Manion’s International Auction House has provided KCPT with invaluable insight into the process of organizing this event,” said Patti Broderick. “We look forward to working with them to make this an annual affair.”
