How do you sell Collectibles on eBay with all the new rules? Do you want to Discover How to REALLY Profit from selling the Collectibles around your house on eBay?
News-Antique.com - Mar 05,2009 - After years of learning the do's and don'ts for selling on eBay, I've written simple, easy-to-use course. This arms you with the knowledge that most sellers WISH they had!
Excerpt from course:
"As an eBay® Powerseller I’ve learned how to sell, the hard way. Selling collectibles on eBay is like navigating your way through a minefield of rules, terms, and buyer expectations. In this book I will walk you through the steps to succeed, from selling small collectibles lying around the house, to running many auctions weekly!
The first thing to go over is rules of selling. I’m embarrassed to tell you how many times eBay has slapped my wrist for ‘violations.’ It’s really irritating, because I’ve always considered myself a good and honest seller. But when it comes to collectibles, eBay has rules and sub-regulations wrapped in enigmatic riddles! For example, when my father started selling on eBay, he was dealing primarily in magazines. He found a collection of Playboy magazines at a garage sale. He loaded them, one by one, onto eBay. They were all from 1960-1979. He put them in the books>magazines>back issues section, and in the item specifics he selected “Pre-1980 Playboy.” Satisfied that he followed the rules, he launched the listings to auction.
Two days into the seven day run, four of the playboys were pulled by eBay’s Trust and Safety (TNS). As it turned out, eBay had a rule that, if there’s any nipple showing on the cover, it must go into the ‘adult’ category. “Why,” he argued, “would you have a section for Pre-1980 Playboys if you don’t’ want me to put them there?” The rep replied coolly, “It’s in the rules.” When my father argued that it would be impossible to memorize every rule and how misleading it was to have a section for pre-180 playboys with no notation to the contrary, he was met with this response: “Failure to know the rules does not make you exempt.”
Now, I should add that since then my father and I have been assigned an account representative who is wonderful and who tries to catch problems before they turn into violations, but it took years of selling by trial and error before he did enough business to earn our own representative...."
