News-Antique.com - Mar 02,2009 - MIAMI, FLORIDA (January 29, 2009). The Abreu Law Firm announces the creation of a new, unique, and innovative blog dedicated to recent news and happenings in the world of cyber crime. The new blog, called The CyberSleuth, is a blog dedicated to cyber crime, computer innovation, and how the human race interacts with the technology around it.
The CyberSleuth was created to report on the happenings of the criminal enterprise that has advanced from the popularization of the internet over the last ten years. From anywhere in the world, cyber criminals can launch a multitude of cyber attacks ranging from the specific (an attack on a specific person) to the broad (an attack on corporate or government computers). Moreover, identity theft has emerged as one of the more profitable cyber crimes. To combat the increase in cyber crime, governments around the world have created cyber crime task forces to investigate and prosecute offenders. However, as cyber crime lawyer Joseph Wolenski notes: technology moves faster than government.
The introduction of the CyberSleuth reads:
You're surfing the Blogosphere into another dimension of crime - a dimension not only of cops and robbers but of technology and guile. It's the middle ground between privacy and exposure; between suspicion and surveillance; and between security and panic. You're moving into a blog created on the next frontier of crime: The ever-evolving world of CYBER CRIME.
The blog is maintained by Miami-based criminal defense lawyers Robert E. Abreu and Joseph H. Wolenski (www.miami-criminal-defense.net). Joseph Wolenski believes that as the internet plays an increasing role in the private lives of citizens, cyber crime will become more and more creative, as well as spike in frequency, virulence, and organization. Recent posts by Joseph Wolenski include topics such as: The logic bomb that almost shut down FannieMae; the $800 billion U.S. government spending bill and how it will affect cyber crime; the conflicker worm’s recent impact on corporate networks; the U.S. Court of Foreign Intelligence Court of Review’s recent decision regarding federal wiretapping; and general news and notes on technology, the computing cloud, and hacker activity in general.
