News-Antique.com - Jan 20,2009 - January 16, 2008 – (Columbus, OH) The Antiques, Vintage & Collectibles Online Sellers Association (or AVCOSA) today announced the formation of its organization to advance the interests of antiques, vintage and collectibles dealers online and to provide them with a centralized source of news, resources and information.
Additionally, the association will promote professionalism among its members through education and technology and provide advocacy services directed to online selling venues to assure that the group's interests are adequately represented.
"The need is apparent," said Judith Morris, vice president of the association. "As more sellers are searching for new selling venues online, we determined that antique dealers and those who sell vintage and collectibles need the support of a group like ours to provide them with the tools and information necessary to remain competitive and effectively grow their businesses."
AVCOSA is in a formative stage and invites online sellers specializing in antiques, vintage and collectibles product categories to join and participate in its development. There is currently no cost to join and new members will influence the development of the group although they must conform to a code of ethics and practice fair trade in their exchanges with online buyers.
