News-Antique.com - Nov 25,2008 - The Griswold & Cast Iron Cookware Convention offers prime opportunities for persons interested in vintage cookware to participate in an auction, swap meet, seminars, & interaction with collectors.
The convention for 2009 is April 30 through May 3, 2009 in St. Louis, MO. Members will convene at the Hilton St. Louis Airport. We have a special room rate of $82 + tax. Most stay Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
The 800 number for the hotel is 1-800-314-2117.
First, you have to be a member of G&CICA to participate in the convention or any of the many regional events throughout the year.
To join, send a check for $25 (good for 2 at the same address) to G&CICA Secretary, 223 Summit Circle, Lakeville, PA 18438 with your name(s), address, phone number and email (optional). The membership runs the calendar year, so right now is a great time to join.
Membership includes 5-6 publications through the year, opportunities to visit any/all of the regional meets held throughout the year and the big convention. The web site is http://gcica.org/ with a lot of information for the casual collector or the seller of vintage cookware.
Some special features of this year's convention in St. Louis are seminars on Griswold's quaker ware, Griswold's battleship aluminum cookware and G.F. Filley & Excelsior Mfg. Co. seminars. The Friday night auction is always a favorite and the Saturday morning swap meet is a must do. You'll see more vintage cookware at our convention that you ever dreamed possible to see in one place. In addition to all events, the meals are included for Friday and Saturday events @ $110 per person.
Convention Pre registration is required to attend, so you'll need to get your membership packet first, and it will include all the details to attend, set up (if you wish), and participate in many fascinating areas of our collecting hobby.
