News-Antique.com - Nov 18,2008 - Anderson's Restorations of Yadkinville,NC is looking to the Spring & Summer of 2009 for opportunities to demonstrate chair seat weaving such as caning,rush,splint and shaker tape along with the weaving of wicker furniture and accessories by showing the different materials used, both natural and man-made,and the weaving of wicker furniture on site.We have sample boards giving people a chance to see and touch the materials and ask questions and find out about restoring and taking care of these items.
Our lecture program is 30-60 minutes long using the same sample boards and examples of seating and wicker. We give people a chance to get samples of materials and encourage people to bring items for evaluation for either type of event and always time for questions and answers.
If you are an Historical Museum and have some items that need recaning or wicker weaving, we would like to do these items for you as part of the demonstration. Just make sure to let us know when contacting us.
