Asian, Ancient & Ethnographic Works of Art Auction at iGavel For Immediate Release: iGavel, the premier online fine art and antiques auction house, unveils its highly anticipated Asian, Ancient & Ethnographic Works of Art Auction at www.igavel.co
News-Antique.com - Oct 13,2008 - The auction is set to start as demand for Asian art continues to soar on iGavel. A recent Elder’s Antiques Auction hosted by iGavel ended with a record sale of an Early 20th Century Chinese White Jade Vase. Bidding went back and forth 40 times for the vase in March, driving the $7,000 starting price all the way up to $291,600.
The collection features a number of rare and historically unique artifacts from across the Asian continent, running the gamut from Buddhist iconography to a work by famed Filipino artist Fernando Cueto Amorsolo. Among the items to be auctioned are a Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Figure, a Chinese Rhinoceros Horn Libation Cup, Chinese Doucai Porcelain Vase, and a Carved Ivory Wristrest, all dating from the early to mid Qing dynasty.
Collectors will have the opportunity to visit iGavel’s New York City gallery to catch a first hand glimpse of the artwork. The collection will be in exhibition from October 20 to October 24th 10AM-5PM at 229 East 120th Street.
