WalkingWomen arranges women's walking holidays of all different shapes and sizes in many parts of the UK and abroad. Whether you prefer gentle walks or adventure, creature comforts or economy, there's variety here for most tastes and levels of fitness!
WalkingWomen is about making wonderful walks more accessible. It's about un-pressured walking in beautiful scenery, or challenge and adventure if that's what you want. It's about attractive and affordable places to stay to suit a range of tastes. And most of all, it's about the fun and stimulation of walking with a group of other women!
Most women come on their own. The walking group is small and friendly, with a trained guide to show you wonderful walks you might otherwise miss. The age range is wide and all women are welcome!
This autumn the Walking Women group will be visiting the ancient settlement of Dunwich, a quiet village on the edge of the sea with a fascinating history, a small museum, and a ruined priory. Paths fan out from the village through Minsmere Nature Reserve, to the pretty estuary village of Walberswick, or inland through fields and woodland.
Just along the coast from Dunwich is the stylish and very fashionable resort of Aldeburgh, set on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, a great area for long and short country or coastal walks. Aldeburgh has a number of fine hotels and situated almost on the shore of this stunning coastline is the White Lion hotel. Just a stone’s throw from the pebbled beach, the White Lion has 38 character bedrooms, some with four poster beds and views of the sea.
