Online Replacement China Antiques and Collectibles Shop Opens New Consignment Opportunities. DownHome Antiques and Collectibles on the Tias network of online malls fulfill the need for local and regional consignments in the replacement china and small antique and collectibles market.
News-Antique.com - Sep 13,2008 - As collectors of fine china and various collectibles ourselves, as most of us are aware we began to collect more than our homes are capable of holding; so rather than purchasing a new home to house all our precious possessions we decided several years ago to start selling them off to make room for new interests.
Enter DownHome Antiques and Collectibles, while starting small and offering our own private collections we eventually (as many have) grew to the point of making a full time business of online sales.
Along the way we have received hundreds upon hundreds of requests from people asking either “can you sell this for me?” or “where is the best place to sell this?”
These questions coupled with the repeated requests of local antique mall sellers to consign online for them led us to open our new consignment division.
While still in infancy we are growing this division daily with our customers enjoying the
Dynamic growth and future growth potential of the online antiques and collectibles market place.
The one really exciting aspect of our new venture is for the potential of local and regional charitable institutions to take advantage of the marketing power and sales potential for a category of merchandise that does not sell well or sell for anything close to their market value prices such as:
China: It typically is sold for less than 2 cents on the dollar of its replacement value while also taking up much needed floor and shelf space in the typical charitable thrift outlet store.
Collectibles: From mid century cold paint figurines higher end LLadro and Armani pieces which the average manager either does not have the experience to recognize what the piece is or to place a realistic value on.
Antiques: In all categories from furniture to paintings. As the manager of the local non profit down the street said “I get so disgusted with watching antiques I know are worth hundreds or more walk out of here for a few dollars when we could be helping many more teens with what they could have sold for” Quote from Teen Challenge thrift manager.
With the continued improvement to the economy in general and the continued growth
Of the Replacement china Antiques and Collectibles market and the ever large and growing need for charitable organizations to be able to not only help those in need but to
Do so by the generous donations of others and the ability to sell those items in an equitable manner we expect to see continued growth in this division.
