New Antique Shop Opening With A Unique Concept My Granny's Attic Antiques wants to be a destination not just another antique shop.
Located in Old Town Lenexa, Kansas in a refurbished old home we will offer many unique finds and services.
News-Antique.com - Jul 23,2008 - With the grand opening planned for Sept. 1, 2008, we will rent space to dealers, artists, artisans of many disciplines, offer unique gifts, quality antiques, collectibles and memorabilia.
There will be an onsite antique reference and resource library, monthly classes covering a variety of topics, fundraising opportunities for schools and local non-profit organizations and many more in store and community participation activities and events.
Gallery showings will be available, and encouraged, to local artist's who consign their works through the store and we really want to encourage teen artist participation.
Unlike the traditional antique mall concept with each dealer having a walled off cubicle of floor space, My Granny's Attic will display items according to room or category. Living room items will be grouped together, kitchen ware will be in the kitchen and so forth. This gives each dealer an equal opportunity for their wares to be seen.
You will not find crocheted toilet roll covers or new Avon products for sale. We will offer high quality items and fair prices. We will have a "recycled re-usables" area for gently used clothing, small electronics and other everyday items for those needing items for their first home or the first day of school.
We hope to eventually bring in a few gourmet condiments such as jams, jellies and relishes. Our greatest desire is to provide an outlet for local artists of all aspects such as paint, photography, jewelry and high quality crafts and sewing. As well as my beloved antiques, collectibles and memorabilia items and to educate others on antiques, collectibles, memorabilia or any other topic they care to learn about.
Granny aka Michelle Staley, has over 25 years antique experience both as a collector and dealer. Over the past eight years, she has built a well respected online shop and is considered by many to be an expert in the field.
Large furniture items and smaller antiques or collectibles with a resale value of at least $50 will be accepted on consignment along with any and all art pieces. We also encourage anyone interested in renting space and selling through our shop to contact us quickly as space is filling up fast.
The shop will be located at 9230 Pflumm Road Lenexa, Kansas.
