Her book Christmas Merrymaking, published in 2007 by Pelican, was selected as one of three finalists for the 2008 PMA Benjamin Franklin Award in the Gift Books/Small Format category. A painter and photographer, Kissinger is a charter member of the Art Guild of Burlington, Iowa, and has exhibited her paintings in New York and throughout the Midwest.
