News-Antique.com - May 08,2008 - Madison NJ Collector Ralph DeLuca discovers the only know poster for The "Winter Dance Party" show that Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper died in a plane crash on their way to on Feb 3, 1959. This event has been forever dubbed "The day the music died" and is still painfully remembered to this day. Posters from other shows on this tour have been discovered but none from this day. Deluca found one of these once in a lifetime finds when he received a call from Moorhead MN. The son of a local street sweeper said he had a poster for the concert Buddy Holly was heading to when his plane crashed, the day the music died.
Deluca hopped on a plane and went to retrieve the poster for his collection. He's now hoping to find other posters related to the build up of that fateful show in 1959.
"This is the most significant concert poster I have ever owned" says Deluca who has one of the Country's premier collections of vintage Movie and Music Posters.
