News-Antique.com - Feb 18,2008 - The City of Canton's goal of once again being known as the undisputed antique capital of Texas first brought about the idea of an annual antique show. As we looked back, we saw that antiques helped to make us famous and we wanted to put more time and effort into promoting them. Last April, we had our first Antique Extravaganza and the response was gratifying both from the vendors as well as the shoppers, says Antique Extravaganza Coordinator, Tam Erwin. Dealers with fine antiques and collectibles are glad to have an indoor venue for the show at the climate-controlled Canton Civic Center. Offered again this year are the $5.00 per day R.V. hook-ups for dealers and shoppers, along with free admission and free parking near the Civic Center. There will be two daily drawings for $50.00 gift certificates to be used for purchases at the Extravaganza. Only dealers with true antique and collectible items will be accepted for the show. We are working hard to make this a Texas-Size antique event and a special destination for antique lovers.
