News-Antique.com - Oct 26,2007 - The da Vinci Chalice Group announced in Oct. 2007 the discovery of the Lost silver chalice from the Last Supper!
The group is pursing the "Holy Grail", an investigation, of the artistic, symbolic, and physical elements of the da Vinci chalice. The web site established at www.thedavincichalice.com
contains updates, photos, and new information. The Chalice was made at Verrocchio studio C. 1476, by da
Vinci, the markings on the bottom of the chalice, the renaissance style, physical reliefs, and the theme all relate to this Florentine period. It is not surprising that da Vinci would incorporate a subject matter that was dear to his heart, mannered Naturalism, his putty troubadours were used to loudly announce, play there eternal song,to mistically move the wind, water, air. These important symbols followed him through his entire life, can be found on the chalice. The group has looked to the original drawing by da Vinci, for prototypes to establish a direct link with the chalice. We have been successful in locating these putties on individual and group drawing. We have located a very special small detail drawing by da Vinci, of a sea shell, it is an exact match. Only left handed Master would have placed on the chalice.
