Countries represented are United States, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Japan. The collection includes one of a kind “folk art” items like a fabulously carved oak picture frame and a couple of profusely carved walking canes. An outstanding carving of a reclining Hobo, signed and dated by a thirteen year old boy with incredible skills beyond his years, is available. The pair of Japanese peasants clothed in traditional garments are so realistically carved and painted you will have trouble believing they were carved by hand.
Figurines from noted carvers such as Charles Hannah, his sons, Gunnersson, Tronheim, Churchill, Jean-Julien Bourgault, Trygg, and Henning are represented. Companies like Anri, Dolfi, and others are also in abundance.
Beside carvings they will offer an important and early Salesman’s catalogue of pre WWII Anri products, many with original wholesale prices, used in Europe and found recently in the USA. The content of this catalog has never been published and would be a fabulous find for the advanced Anri collector.
Several German or Swiss Black Forest style items are in the group. Some Anri novelty items are interspersed with the diverse male and female figurines of various sizes and finishes.
