comes from the Arabian Nights, an ancient story from Basrah, Iraq; in Arabic, Sinbad was ‘As-Sindi-baad Al-Bahn.’ The present group comprises twenty cartoon slides of Sinbad’s adventures, telling the story very nicely with captions in English. Condition excellent.

New York artist Operti (1852-1927) was well known for his painted opertic scenes and polar images. Here, a fine patriotic color drawing of a battleship, 16x20”, with minor damage, else very fine. Comes with another pencil drawing of the U.S.S. Maine, which is in poor condition, with the top left corner missing and the bottom right corner detached but present.
