ROYALTY CROSSES THE BLOCK WITH THE GRACE OF “JACKIE O.”
The thrill and excitement are here again with Red Baron’s Fall Auction. This time Red Baron will auction off Jackie and Aristotle Onassis’ personal car. Their custom-made 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith is on the block, but only at Red Baron’s Auction 75, October 13 -14 in Atlanta, GA. Along with this incredible piece of regal history they will sell over 2,000 other magnificent lots to include a very important Tiffany Window, a real NASCAR Racecar, and a $10,000 “Binion” bill.
Headlining the stage will of course be the Rolls Royce of Aristotle and Jackie Kennedy Onassis. With Jackie O.’s style and grace one can only imagine the elegance and class of their automobile. This 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith is a two passenger, chauffer driven, left-hand drive, bullet-proof car, with all of the luxuries of its time. It is a one off production and speaks of sovereignty all the way to the hood emblem of the kneeling lady. It was used exclusively for their trips between Paris and Monte Carlo, and belonged to Aristotle and Jackie until his death in 1975.
“Never have we been graced with a such a presence,” said Bob Brown, owner of Red Baron, “as that of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. She embodies the style, grace, character and history that we seek in each of our pieces. We are privileged to have this car, as will be its new owner.”
This incredible car could only be followed by something equally as impressive. St. Pauls Universalist Church in Meriden, CT housed one of the most beautiful Louis Comfort Tiffany windows ever seen. It is listed in Alastair Duncan’s authoritative reference on Tiffany Windows. The window will be sold in fifteen separate lots, each with unequivocal beauty in its depictions. The window is fully signed.
Coming under the gavel the same weekend at Red Baron will be the 1999 Ford Taurus of the Bill Elliott race team with a 700 HP engine built by Ernie Elliot and the McDonald’s paint scheme that previously belonged to the Coca Cola family.
Also sold will be a $10,000 certified “Binion Bill”, as well as the very rare $1,000 bill which was minted in Atlanta, GA.
“We have some really unique and unforgettable pieces, which are of course only appropriate for such an awesome event,” stated Mr. Brown.
Auctions like this are why Red Baron is regarded as the premier auction house of the Southeast and the only one of it’s kind in the world. With three auctions annually they draw clients from all over the world. Each auction carries a decadent and fun theme, which one can only imagine what type of festivities their 75th Auction will bring.
The Auction will be held October 13-14, with over 2,000 lots sold in two days, and previews held October 8-12, as well as a preview party for registered bidders on the evening
