News-Antique.com - Jul 17,2007 - Leonard Auction is pleased to announce that it will conduct a historic sale for the Benedictine Sisters at the Sacred Heart Monastery in Lisle on July 26 – 28, 2007. The sale will represent items from the founding of the Sacred Heart Monastery in 1895 to the present.
Recent building renovations have left the Benedictine Sisters with a surplus of fine artwork, furniture, architectural artifacts and many other unique treasures. Highlights include built-in cabinetry, a Kimball Reed oak organ, stained glass, more than 50 lamps and chandeliers, original oils on canvas, tapestries and the original Benedictine “post office” cabinet with 81 combination-door post office boxes.
Other highlights from the sale include stereo and public address equipment, hundreds of chairs and theatre seats, bookcases and kitchenware. The sale includes thousands of items priced from $1 up to $2000 with most items priced under $20.
