“Today’s Open House sale proved to be a highly successful meeting place for new artists and new collectors. Many artists who made their auction debut such as Brian Alfred and Juan Usle, were extremely well received by an audience that included seasoned collectors as well as very new faces. Great results were also noted for artists with a solidly established market such as Joan Mitchell, Robert Rauschenberg and Milton Resnick. The sale outperformed its pre-sale estimate easily, doubled it in fact, and certainly has potential to become a fixture on the Christie’s auction agenda,” said Erica Barrish and Jonathan Laib, Specialists for the Open House sale
