News-Antique.com - Jul 02,2007 - NASHUA, N.H. – Now celebrating its 10th year, the Annual Yard Sale & Flea Market benefiting the Humane Society for Greater Nashua welcomes buyers to its July 28-29, 2007 fund-raising event, at the greenhouses of Sullivan Farms in Nashua. Each year the local community responds to the call, donating thousands of items to be offered at extremely affordable prices, with all profits going toward HSFN’s Abby Fund. This fund provides critical medical care for animals in need.
One of the highlights of HSFN’s Annual Yard Sale & Flea Market is the special section reserved for antique and vintage items, as well as costume and fine jewelry. A separate greenhouse is devoted to books, record albums and art. “There’s always a line for early buying,” said HSFN’s Director of Development, Mark Jesionowski. “For a $10 fee, early buyers can enter at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday to take first crack at the merchandise. Usually those who buy early are antique dealers or collectors, and in past years they’ve found some real treasures.” There is no admission charge to enter and shop at the yard sale during the regular hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28; and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Sunday, July 29.
Sunday is bargain day, drawing many return visitors who already shopped on Saturday. Buyers can fill an entire bag with goods for only $1. There are no limitations; the merchandise can come from anywhere in the yard sale.
At present, HSFN is seeking both yard sale/flea market donations (see list of acceptable items online) and volunteers to work during the event.
