The European press dubbed him "The American Versace." The World Gold Council of the United Kingdom called Van Pier "one of the hottest haute couture designers in the fashion world." Princess Diana favored his signature blazer and silk Lycra pants.
Luckman Van Pier recently has begun scouting locations in New York City for the establishment of the Andre Van Pier American Couture Museum, which will provide a fashion and art showcase for Inter-cultured fashion artists from around the globe and talented young American designers while paying homage to American fashion innovation on the world stage. "Historically Europe has always received the lion's share of the credit for haute couture," said Van Pier. "We are determined to shine the spotlight on American designers and give them all the credit they richly deserve." Van Pier said.
Van Pier was originally introduced to Michael Jackson at the legendary 25 year Motown anniversary spectacular by an MTV music producer. Andre Van Pier has had much to do with changing the face of rock music.
