News-Antique.com - Jun 11,2007 - Dallas, TX. The Official Auctions of the May/June 2007 Long Beach Coin Expo were held by Heritage Auction Galleries, May 31-June 1 in Long Beach, California. The Ancient & World Coin Signature Auction realized $3,502,291; when combined with U.S. coin auction results of $8,188,350, Post Auction Buys for both auctions, and results from two Final Sessions (U.S. and World), total prices realized for all auctions of nearly $13 million are anticipated. “This was one of our larger Ancient and World coin events,” noted Warren Tucker, Director of World Coins, “containing more than 2,000 lots of numismatic treasures. Before the auction started, we knew that the two major Russian collections featured were drawing substantial attention. The Belle Glade Collection of Russian rarities contained phenomenal gold proofs, as well as proof and Uncirculated Roubles. A type set of magnificent Russian Roubles, containing several rarities, came from an anonymous consignor. These Russian rarities absolutely dominated the prices realized at this auction!”
