News-Antique.com - Apr 30,2007 - May’s Antique Market of Brimfield, Massachusetts will open the May 10-12, 2007 Brimfield Antique and Collectible Show with a celebration of 30 years as a leading Brimfield Show. With 600 antiques and collectibles dealers, May’s has become known for its unique style of opening an antique show. Dealers know that they cannot set up or sell merchandise prior to the 9 AM gate opening on Thursday. As thousands of buyers run onto the field, dealers unpack their merchandise and sell at a furious pace. The energy of the opening is palpable and keeps buyers coming back year after year. This unique show opening also limits the pre-show selling among dealers common at antique shows, and allows the average buyer a fair chance at a good buy and an undiscovered treasure.
In appreciation to their loyal dealers, May’s will be giving 600 Thirty-Year Anniversary, May’s Antique Market Embroidered hats. Each is a “Limited Edition” quality hat done in an antique color. In the spirit of collecting, each hat has been individually embroidered with its own number, in a limited series from 1-600, “May’s Antique Market, 30 Years Brimfield, 1977-2007”.
This prime Brimfield Show has been a mainstay for antique lovers, set designers, collectors and decorators looking for furniture, art & paintings, jewelry, sterling silver, antique toys, civil war, paper, books, postcards, maps, old tools, dolls, pottery, Americana, folk art, deco, decoys, lamps & lighting, vintage clothing and textiles, rugs, quilts, stoneware, scientific equipment and many other categories of unusual and unique items. Mentioned in countless publications and captured in numerous television news segments, May’s reputation rests with their quality dealers. Dealers at May’s come from all over the United States and Canada and many are some of the most knowledgeable dealers in the industry.
Admission to May’s Antique Market is $5 per person and the show opens on Thursday, May 10th at 9 AM and runs through Saturday May 12. Parking is located on the south side of Route 20 directly across from the main entrance to May’s.
