News-Antique.com - Apr 17,2007 - The 18th annual Ohio Valley China Collectors convention will be held in East Liverpool, Ohio on June 24-26, 2010. It will be held in downtown East Liverpool at the Salvation Army Hall.
This is a convention for people who collect china made by the potteries from the Ohio River Valley and surrounding area. Such potteries as Homer Laughlin, Hall China, Harker, Vodrey, Warwick, Knowles Taylor & Knowles, and hundreds more have all operated in this area. Most of the potteries are now gone but their memories live on at the convention. Each year a different pottery or type of china is highlighted. In the past we have hightlighted Ironstone, Harker, Hall, Homer Laughlin, and Lotus Ware among otheres. The convention's theme will be pottery pottery of the Ohio Valley. Events planned include a live and silent auction, a pottery market, a banquet, open house at the Thompson House Museum, a lecture to be held in the Ceramics Musuem, tours of collectors collections, and other events.
